If you desire, facilitators will introduce you to others at the smaller and large cocktail parties. If you want to meet a certain person, ask them. In many cases, facilitators will ever-so-gently break up groups that come together (asking, of course, if that is acceptable). If he or she saw that you came with John and Samantha, she would introduce you to Rachel, John to Tom, and Samantha to Peter. You can idenfity facilitators because they wear a nametag and descriptive tag with a red border. In addition, at many of the parties, we have a poster with their photos.
At the party, you can tell facilitators who you would like to meet — everything from potential employers, a tennis partner, to a love interest. You can ask them to find out about someone at the party you are interested in or if they would introduce you to a particular person.
In addition, at any time you can submit requests to the facilitators, which are written requests concerning who you would like to meet. These requests can be public, which means they will be sent to every person who is attending the party. Or you can make them private, which means they will only be sent to the facilitators.
Being a facilitator gives you carte blanche to talk with anyone in the room at any time. If you'd like to be a facilitator, e-mail James. In terms of choosing facilitators, we look for people that will be attending most of the parties.
