Very neat changes and refinements! Congrats, James. Also wanted to especially let you know that the quality and wow-these-people-are-interesting has gone way up j ust since the large party at Saint in November. (As has the venue: The Ritz is way cool.) You, of all people, know I am hard to be impress. Okay: I'm impressed. I had a sensational time at the April party.

Allow me to thank you for an exceptional party. I'm looking at a small stack of business cards. I have plans with three people, a couple and another woman, for the four of us to have dinner next week. I have been given a reading assignment, a movie to watch, made a professional connection, met someone who has great parenting resources, and met a fellow Hingham refugee (another single mom who just fled Hingham, as I am soon to do.)

I read all the descriptions and it really added to the evening — "Oh, you're the one who almost died in a blizzard."

I have been to 6 parties in the past year. My first experience was at the Ritz Carlton roof deck in the later quarter of 2004. I was very impressed by the organization of your events, the actual venue, the name tags and of course your exceptionally detailed and thorough emails/database.

I like the idea of the facilitators and the name tags. It gives an air of organization and purpose. Most events I have attended have lacked a purpose and people tend to congregate in preordained groups. As a single transplant from England I had found it difficult identifying places to meet people of substance and culture.

I have made several new friends through your parties (both male and female). And although I am still single, I feel your parties will contribute some way to helping me find a suitable partner, either directly or indirectly through some of the wonderful people I have met.

I have yet to meet you but would like to thank you for going to all the trouble to host and organize such successful and interesting events and also commend you for such a well organized social gathering.

James, the film screening for "Spagetti and Matso Balls" was the first event that you sponsored that I attended. It appeared to be quite a successful evening. I am very IMPRESSED with what you are doing and accomplishing! There is definitely a need for this sort of thing in the Boston area, and I compliment you on your effort in putting this together. I know from experience, any time you try and get a group together for anything it is difficult. You are wisely using technology to reach large numbers of people. Thank you again for your all the time and effort you are putting into this.

The Consuls Ball was perhaps for me the highlight of the early Springtime in Boston. It harkens back to an earlier era of elegance that is gratifying to relive.

James, I wanted to thank you for adding my event to your e-mail list. I have received about 20 RSVP's from people that have been recommended to come to the event through your e-mail list. Look forward to seeing you again.

Samuel Fletcher

Never in Boston's 376-year history has there ever been a social phenomenon like James. Bursting onto the Boston social scene in 2002, in a few short years he has single-handedly transformed Boston's social environment for the better. Every day the city becomes increasingly divided into two camps: those who are on James' list and those who aren't. Those who are attend the best parties in town, meet fascinating people, and are invited to a myriad of other events. Those who aren't hear about how wonderful they are from those who are and wish they were invited. James accomplishes this through his captivating charm, endless energy, and extraordinary brilliance. What is even more remarkable is that he does this not for profit but as a charitable venture. It's inconceivable that Boston will ever have another social force more important than James.
